Despite the recent familiarity Milwaukee Brewers fans have gained with injuries to the team’s big name players over the last few years – Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Gomez, Ryan Braun to name a few – this season has actually remained relatively calm.
Most of the injuries have affected more fringe players than big-league starters, barring Domingo Santana, Junior Guerra, and the perennial battles of Braun, but the names on the disabled list are still worth mentioning, especially as the team nears closer to the September 1 roster expansion.
Some may return soon and some may suffer through the remainder of the regular season without any further active playing time but what they all have in common is a spot on the 40-man roster. With any luck, they may also share a contributing spot on the team as the year rolls into the final month before the playoffs.
